THE FACES OF THE CATHEDRAL

Installation with wood, silicone, ceramic 3-d prints, 2 channel video.

Silicone is sprayed in layers onto the cathedral and then peeled off to remove dirt and debris buildup. The silicone layers are (or/ have subsequently been) separated to reveal the imprint of the stone. The Acanthus leaves found in the silicone are cast in wax using a similar technique to painting on layers to build up material. It is then 3D scanned and printed with a ceramic 3D printer.
